President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated the National Council on Climate Change at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The President performed the inauguration ceremony just before commencement of the week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
The week’s Council meeting also observed a minute of silence for former Minister of National Planning, Ayodele Ogunlade, who died recently at 88.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, who called for the minute of silence said Ogunlade, who served as Minister during the regime of the late General Sani Abacha, would be remembered for his selfless contributions to national development.
Physically present at the meeting are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari and Head of the Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan.
Also present are Ministers of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; Justice, Abubakar Malami; Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola and Power, Abubakar Aliyu, among others.
Other cabinet members are participating virtually from their respective offices in Abuja.
