After more than four hours behind closed doors, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila said the House of Representatives has been able to make remarkable progress in the drive to end the lingering ASUU Strike.
Without going into details, the Speaker said the seven point demands of the striking university teachers have been significantly addressed.
The House is to further meet with NITDA, the Accountant and Auditor Generals of the Federation as well as the National Salaries and Wages Commission to firm up all loose ends.
While he is hopeful of an end in sight to the strike, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila said the leadership will be meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari once he returns from UNGA.
Responding, ASUU says it will make further comments only after seeing the government’s report.
