The issue of Boat Mishap and people dying in droves in such accidents have been a major source of concern to most Nigerians with this being the latest in the series of Boat Mishaps especially within Niger, Sokoto, Kebbi and Anambra States.
In Kebbi state alone this year up to a hundred people have died from Boat mishaps either caused by overcrowding or in other cases use of substandard boats by people in navigating through the rivers especially during bad weather.
While State Governments have continued to harp on the need for better boats with better navigational facilities it is the people who have continued to bear the brunt of the avoidable deaths and loss of valuables associated with such incidents.
The latest of such mishap happened in Anambra over a week ago where between 48 to 76 people died depending on the source of information.
This new Mishap has been further exacerbated by the Flooding is some parts of Niger State that has ensured that River levels have risen across the State.
