The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, says the Nigerian Airforce will strive to sustain air operations across war theaters until the country is completely rid of all forms of criminality.
He stated this at the graduation of 460 Airforce personnel who were trained in platform maintenance at the Airforce institute of technology Kaduna.
The Air force institute of technology is positioned to enhance and sustain the critical air power capability of the Nigeria Airforce in line with national security imperatives.
Technical airmen and women are trained at the Institute with the aim of making the force self reliant and dependent on its own personnel for platform maintenance.
The chief of the Air staff Air Marshal Oladayo Amao was accompanied by other senior military officers to the graduation at the Institution.
They joined him to witness the graduation of this new set of Airforce personnel who have completed their training at the Institute to enhance the manpower requirement of the Airforce.
The training comes at a time when the Nation’s armed forces especially the Airforce have intensified the campaigns against banditry and insurgency.
The Air chief restated his belief that the personnel turned out from the training, will improve the self reliance of the forces as it strives to rid the nation of sustained and varied security threats.
The air chief also urges the personnel to continue honing their acquired skills by constantly practicing and engaging in maintenance activities with the facilities of the force and its equipments.
This constant practice according to him will complement classroom instructions.
The Air Chief and Other Senior Military officers present later presented awards to some of the personnel who were outstanding during the course of the training.
The Nigerian Airforce has been at the forefront of the war against Insurgents, Terrorists and Bandits across Nigeria with some of its personnel paying the Supreme price.
