President Muhammadu Buhari has presented awards of service to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, and others.
The awards were given to forty-four prominent Nigerians, including 16 governors from different political parties, ministers, and service chiefs at an event held at the State House in Abuja.

Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the House of Representatives, and Senate President Ahmad Lawan both received awards for their contributions.
The Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service was established to honor outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s citizens, government, local community, or state through leadership, service, or humanitarianism.
The recipient must be a living public official or private citizen who consistently excels in a particular sphere of influence, be in good moral standing, and be at the forefront of service and innovation in order to be eligible.
