Herschel Walker , a candidate for the Georgia Senate, refuted a recent allegation made by an unidentified woman that he actively pressured and paid for her to get an abortion in Dallas in 1993, even though she did not want one.
At a virtual news conference Gloria Allred held from Los Angeles, the lady, who only gave her name as Jane Doe, made the charge. The woman, who could not be seen on camera, claimed that she was afraid of being punished if she revealed her real name or face.
Walker stated in a statement released later on Wednesday, “I’ve had enough of this nonsense. All of this is untrue, and I won’t give it any consideration.”
“I didn’t also murder JFK. This is really sad “Added he. “The media shouldn’t be so naive as to assume I’ll spend any time discussing these lies,” the author said.
He had previously on Wednesday, just before the woman’s press conference, made a similar assertion. He was then asked if he wished to “unequivocally deny” paying any ladies for abortions, but he remained silent when the question was put to him.
Walker has previously refuted claims made to news organizations by an ex-girlfriend that he paid for her to get an abortion in 2009. This woman informed The Daily Beast that she had evidence to back up her claim, including a ticket from an abortion facility, a bank deposit receipt with an image of a $700 check that she claimed Walker had signed and had given just a week prior to the abortion, and a “get well” card.
The claims of either lady have not been independently verified by TVC News.
Walker, a fervent opponent of abortion rights, is competing against Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, who has been campaigning alongside Walker, also endorsed him in a statement on Wednesday, branding Allred, the woman’s lawyer, a Democrat and a “activist.”
Graham and Walker asserted that the latest charge was part of a political campaign to sway voters in a race when issues like public safety, the economy, and abortion rights have also come up.
“To remain in power, Democrats will say and do anything. I’m Herschel Walker, and they chose the incorrect Georgian to play a prank on. Because the stakes are too great, I won’t back down ” Walker stated in his declaration.
Allegations made by the new woman
The unidentified lady who participated in the video news conference with Allred said that she became pregnant in April 1993 as a result of having an intimate relationship with Walker.
Herschel, she alleged, “encouraged me to have an abortion and offered me the money to do so after discussing the issue with him several times.”
After that, she claimed she traveled to Dallas for the treatment but decided against having it done. However, she claimed Walker put pressure on her, drove her back to the abortion facility the following day, waited outside until it was over, and then took her to a pharmacy to pick up some medication.
In order to prove her supposed abortion, the woman did not offer any supporting evidence.
Response from Warnock to Walker’s assertion about abortion
Our knowledge is that Herschel Walker “has a problem with the truth, a difficulty addressing questions, and a problem taking responsibility for his conduct,” according to a statement released on Wednesday by Warnock’s deputy campaign manager, Rachel Petri.
“The new report released today is merely the most recent instance of a worrying tendency that we have often observed. Georgians shouldn’t be represented by Herschel Walker in the U.S. Senate, “added Petri.
Warnock offered his opinion on the first woman’s allegation of abortion against Walker earlier this month.
At that time, he stated during a campaign rally “It’s alarming what we’re hearing about my opponent. Georgians, in my opinion, have a real option in terms of who they believe is qualified to serve as their senator in the US Senate.”
