The Peace Park at Ketu-Ojota has been formally unveiled by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Governor Sanwo-olu says the park would serve as a source of convergence, unity, and tourist attraction for Lagos residents, particularly the state’s youth.
Speaking at the formal commissioning of the Peace Park in Lagos on Saturday, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the initiative was to ensure peaceful existence among residents of the state.
The event, according to the governor, served as a wake-up call to Lagos State residents that their government is paying attention and is committed to keeping its commitments.

He stated that the government is dedicated to making Lagos a bigger and better state and to making a deliberate and sustained impact on people’s lives.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the facility is a significant occasion to associate with the excellent programs that will be provided to state residents.
The governor’s initiative, the Peace Park, is strategically situated at the junction of Ikorodu Road and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to the governor, the park was created to further promote peaceful coexistence among Lagosians, particularly as the general elections of 2023 draw near.
Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello, described the event “As another landmark achievement of the current administration towards improving the well-being of Lagosians, as well as bequeathing a befitting environment to the people of the state in line with this administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda.”
Bello commended Sanwo-Olu’s “Passion for ensuring that Lagosians from all walks of life have access to recreational facilities.”
The establishment of the Peace Park, according to him, exemplifies the Sanwo-Olu administration’s “unwavering and strategic move towards executing developmental projects in our desire to actualize the status of Lagos, not only as the commercial hub of the nation but also as a remarkable tourist destination,”
Bello also praised the governor for realizing his vision of making Lagos State a land of opportunities, where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in their careers and endeavors and enjoy time with their loved ones in a calm environment.
Adetoun Popoola, general manager of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency, thanked the Sanwo-Olu administration for its assistance and work in setting up recreational facilities in the state.
Dele Osinowo, Chairman of Agboyi Ketu LCDA, attended the event as well and praised the governor for launching the project within his jurisdiction while emphasizing the need for people to make sure that peace prevails in their various spheres of influence.
