Youths in their numbers in Ibadan on Thursday staged a protest against what they described as incessant illegal arrests by officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The protesters who took their agitation to the main entrance of the state Secretariat in Agodi Ibadan, Oyo state carried placards of various inscriptions asking the Government to end the agency (EFCC).

They barricaded the entrance of the secretariat preventing visitors from going in and obstructing vehicular movements.
They expressed displeasure at the activities of the anti-graft agency claiming their activities have always been to assault innocent youths.
One of the protesters who identified himself as Samuel said they are agitating against indiscriminate arrest by the EFCC who many times accuse them of being fraudsters.
Samuel who said he is an engineer into real estate lamented that on several occasions he has been bursted by officers of the EFCC accusing him of being into fraud.
The protest also caused heavy traffic gridlock along the Bodija axis Parliament, and Total Garden roads, among others.
Some of the youths, in their twenties and thirties, accused the EFCC of conducting illegal house searches and arrests in their operations, calling for a review and reform of the agency’s operations.
