Police have rescued one year old baby and ten Women from Kidnappers’ den in Zamfara state.
The victims who are natives of Manye village in Anka Local Government were rescued by police tactical Operatives and members of the Vigilante Group in Gando forest, in Bukkuyum Local Government area of the state.
They were rescued after three days in captivity.
The kidnap victims were abducted in their home town Manye when a group of heavily armed terrorists invaded the village and whisked them away.
A press statement signed by the police spokesperson Mohammed Shehu says, on receiving the report of the incident, the Commissioner of Police deployed additional Police Tactical operatives to reinforce Anka Divisional Headquarters with the support from members of the local Vigilante led to the success recorded
The statement adds that all the rescued victims were debriefed by Police detectives and reunited with their families Friday evening.
The police also commend the efforts of the Sole Administrator of Anka Local Government area and other stakeholders in ensuring the safe rescue of the Kidnap Victims
Bukkuyum and Anka Local Government areas are located in the western part of the Zamfara and Communities in the area have come under bandits attack in recent times
Governor Bello Matawalle had two weeks ago ordered the shutdown Anka, Gummi and Bukkuyum Local Government areas due to the resurgence of Banditry, Kidnapping and attack on highways among other Criminal activities
Yet, there still reports of attacks and Kidnapping from the affected Local Government Councils despite being shutdown but Police in the state reassure of its readiness to continue fighting crime and criminality.
