The train service was suspended indefinitely in the wake of the Terror attack on the Abuja-Kaduna Passenger Train Service on March 28.
The attack on the Abuja-Kaduna passenger Train Service by Terrorists on the Night of March 28th was a coordinated IEDS’ and gun attack which claimed 8 persons in its immediate aftermath.

The Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP, later claimed responsibility for the attack after the Federal Government had fingered the group in its initial assessment after the attack.
The government described it as the result of collaboration between the Bandits who were alleged by many observers to be behind the attack and Terrorists.
After the failure of the Terrorists to release hostages, Tukur Mamu, an associate of the controversial cleric, Sheik Ahmad Gumi, became the lead negotiator for the families of hostages and secured the release of some of the hostages before he was also accused by the Department of State Services, DSS, as a front for Terrorists, Bandits and Other criminal groups.
He has since been in detention after being repatriated from Egypt on his way to attend lesser Hajj, Ummrah, in Saudi Arabia with his wives.
He is currently in detention undergoing trial.
