A Magistrate Court sitting in Yenagoa has granted Bobby Ugo bail pending the fulfillment of the bail conditions established in the statement.
The Bayelsa State APC media coordinator was arrested for criminal defamation of the State Governor in a Facebook post last month.
Bobby Ugo was arrested on the 21st of October 2022 around 10pm at his residence in Yenagoa with a fully armed anti-kidnapping squad of the Bayelsa State Police Command for criminal defamation of the Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri in a post on his official Facebook account.

He appeared in court for the second time after being remanded at the Okaka correctional center by the magistrate court sitting in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
Mr. Ugo was granted bail in the amount of 500,000 naira upon the presentation of two shorties, one of which was a first-class traditional ruler with landed property in the state capital, without protest from the prosecution lawyer.
Hailing the development, the defense counsel says there are more hurdles ahead as the case has been filed at the state high court by the attorney general of the state.
With the hearing set to take place on the 14th of November, it is believed the suspect will appear in court a free man after meeting his bail conditions.
