Permanent Secretary/GM, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu says the administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu has turned around emergency services in Lagos from what is was.
He said for the state emergency agency to be able to respond anywhere in Lagos state simultaneously, means the emergency system is robust, effective, functional, and extremely efficient.

The GM,LASEMA stated this on ThisMorning with Yori Folarin while appraising the agency’s response to disaster management.
Governor Sanwo-Olu had in October commissioned 62 newly procured fire trucks and unveiled three newly built fire stations across the State as well as renovated fire rescue stations to address issues of emergency in different parts of the state.
Dr Osanyintolu added that ‘the golden rule and golden hour are kept judiciously’
Dr. Osanyintolu, who is also a Permanent Secretary at the ministry of environment stated that for LASEMA to be able to respond to different emergencies at the same time in the state shows that the agency has resources and manpower. It also shows there is synergy and a plan in place.
“It also shows clearly on the mandate of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu that the safety of life and properties is paramount in his administration.
“We can start any form of emergency response at simultaneously at different parts of the state.
“Additional man power has also been employed in emergency services in Lagos.
Speaking further on LASEMA’s response to disaster, the GM said the administration of Sanwo-olu has approved a five year plan for the agency including a building capacity with different equipment.
He noted that with what the Sanwo-olu’s administration has provided, mortality that is associated with disaster has been greatly reduced In Lagos.
