The commissioner for information and Strategy, Lagos state, Gbenga Omotoso, has likened the performance of the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat to that of an elephant.
According to him, “the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy Obafemi Hamzat has killed not a rat but a very big elephant”
Speaking on Wednesday’s edition of #ThisMorning with Yori Folarin, the Commissioner said there is a very huge difference in the state of affairs when Mr Sanwo-Olu came into power and what we have today.

Mr Omotoso gave instances of projects done by the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu ranging from roads to security, education and so on.
He noted that Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commenced a lot of projects which will be completed.
“Lagos is the only subnational government that is constructing a railway without federal aid. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is using” funds from his balance sheet to fund its construction,” Omotoso noted.
Mr Omotoso also said the ongoing red line project will be finished by the end of the year, commissioned, tested, and available for passenger service by the first quarter of 2023.
“The redline is a 37km line which will start from Marina to Agbado, the first phase from Oyingbo to Agbado is on, according to the governor will be completed at the end of the year which will be moving about half a million passengers.”
“We are proud of what the administration of governor Sanwo-Olu has done so far”
“We also have the blueline which will be taken about one million passengers. Both passengers and goods will be well serviced as we also have cargo trains.
“Everything the governor has done shows of excellence.
Speaking on education, the Lagos state commissioner for Information and Strategy remarked that upon resumption of office, the governor stated that education and health will be prioritised in his program, which he has continued to do.
“Education has continued to receive a very big slice budget after budget.
“This is evident in the numbers. The percentage of students passing the WAEC examinations have increased from 30% , 36% to about 82%.
“Our aim is to see that all candidates of Lagos state to go in for this kind of exam, that they do well, so that we can have 100%.
“The vocabulary of our pupils have also improved under the Eco XL programme. This is a program under which we are putting technology into the hands of our teachers and about 18,000 teachers have been trained under this program and they have been able to use technology to teach in their classrooms.
“About 450,000 of our pupils have been given tablets to aid them in their learning.
“Again, our students who have been out of school have been asked to go and learn a trade, so that they can come back to school and at the same time still learning straight. 15 brand new schools were also recently commissioned by the Sanwo-Olu administration.
“People with disabilities are not also left out in the projects under Governor Sanwo-Olu. They are special people, therefore there is no facility that Lagos is putting up that they are not factored in to make their movement seamless.
Mr Omotoso stated that Lagos is not just an ordinary state as it is being compared to with other cities around the world such as New York and London.
On recycling, Mr Omotoso said private companies as well as foreign companies are currently in talks with Lagos state on how waste could be turned into something productive.
