Governor Ortom of Benue state says integrity, partisanship, equity, fairness and justice are the main reasons why the G-5 PDP governor’s are aggrieved.
The governor spoke at a cultural night and Dinner held in their honour by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in Enugu town.
The governors are men of like minds
They pride themselves as the PDP G-5 governor’s within the ranks of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The governors are here, this time not to campaign but to bond as the people of ENUGU state celebrate their annual cultural day.
Earlier, the Governors were received at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the state visit
Sooner, they were hosted to a cultural dinner at the banquet hall of Government house Enugu by their host, Ifeanyi Uguwanyi.
But in-between the funfair, the G-5 governors say they are keen in maintaining their position as regards the crisis within the ranks of the opposition People’s Democratic party.
Those present at the banquet were Governor Of Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu, Benue, Samuel Ortom, River, Nyesom Wike and host Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde was absent at the meeting.
The G-5 Governors have been at loggerheads with the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over what they say is lack of fairness, integrity and above all broken promises from him.
They have been insistent in their calls for the removal of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, for his role in bungling the Presidential Primary of the Peoples Democratic Party.
They accused him of tilting the outcome of the primary in favour of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar while also saying he broke his promise to resign if a Northerner emerges the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Since the beginning of the crisis of confidence rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, the only concession the G-5 Governors have gotten from the camp of the Presidential Candidate is the resignation of the Former Chairman of the Party’s Board of Trustees, BOT, Senator Walid Jibrin.
He was replaced by former President of the Senate, Senator Adolphus Wabara, as the BOT Chairman.
