The Presidential Candidate of the Accord Party, Professor Chris Imumolen, has described his candidacy for the nations’ top office as that for the youth.
He disclosed this while speaking on TVC News Politics Tonight with Olajumoke Olatunji on Tuesday Night.
He said the time is now for the Youth to stand up and be counted in the quest to make Nigeria truly great.
According to him the Youth are the ones who have made the nation proud at all levels and it is time for them to get together to salvage it from the old generation.
He said the generation currently ahead of Nigerian Youth have failed and the Youth must come together as a force to take charge of the nation politically and Economically.
He cited the examples of Countries who he said have handed over the reign of Leadership both Politically and Economically such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Grenada and Others and how they have developed.
He said his candidacy is also to bring up and implement new ideas in the administration of the Country.
He also said the current Leadership of the Country will not take Nigeria to the next level and the nation is in need of new ideas.
“As a country Nigeria needs an alternative and we are looking for a new breed of leadership in Nigeria and i think its high time for young and aspiring Nigerians who believe or know they have what it takes to begin to come into politics especially at the level of Presidency to see what we can do because i know clearly that the mandate of transforming our country is now in our generation, its in our generation to build a Country, its in our generation to make sure that Nigeria becomes a progressive Nation, for too long we have experienced a lot of backwardness, we have retarded as a nation because of the kind of ideas that our leaders possess, its high time for fresh politicking, its high time for those who have fresh mindset, who charitable at heart, those who believe that Nigeria can sustain its position in the map of progressive Nation”
“So my coming into politics is to represent the Youth and to represent that new idea and for me, Professor Chris, that is what we are doing, we belong to that group of young Nigerians who have made Nigeria proud, if you look at what is happening globally, the generation that is making Nigeria proud are the young Nigerians, its as if looking at the Nigerian Context, the young Nigerians in the entertainment world, in Business, In Sports are actually the ones progressing our nation, if the truth must be said, we know clearly that future and now of this country lies in our hands, the earlier the better we realised it that we are the ones that holds the mandate to build a nation”
“If you look at the Other Countries like the UK, Grenada and every Other part, like in Canada, countries that have handed over their Economy to our generation, it is high time our generation must begin to know that we must ensure that we drive our country forward, We have what it takes, we have the knowledge, we have the strength, we have the passion, we have the heart to drive our nation forward, the older generation have done their best but their best is not enough”
“Looking at where Nigeria is today, looking at where we ought to be today, we clearly know that Nigeria do no have hope in the hands of the generation ahead of us, so we must begin to galvanise ourselves, a time like this is very important for our generation that a group of people must come together in our own generation to take mantle of leadership and lead Nigeria better, our children are all there dying, our mothers are becoming widows at a young age, their is virtually nothing we can hold on to as a nation to say we have prospered or we have progressed, we are tired, i am just a young Nigerian that is as tired as every other Nigerian, we are tired of where we are, we are tired of the security situation, we are tired of the Economic crunches, we are tired that the young Nigerian do not possess enough Education to compete internationally”
