The Nasarawa State Government has expressed satisfaction with the number of youths from the state who registered for Technical Vocational Education Training Maximization programme (TVET-Tmax) of the federal government.
Secretary to the State Government disclosed at a preselection exercise for the programme in Lafia, the capital of the state.
The Federal Government of Nigeria in June 2022, approved the Technical Vocational Education Training Maximization programme (TVET-Tmax)
The Programme is aimed at equipping Nigerians with the requisite skills to be self reliant and lift 100 thousand Nigerians out of poverty.
In order to achieve this, the presidential team met with TVET centres across the country and launched a portal for registration.
In Nasarawa State, 72,000 applications were received and 15,000 among them have been invited for a preselection screening.
This to the Nasarawa State Government is impressive and buttresses the resolve of youths to embrace skills acquisition.
The government wants persons who will project the interest of the state to be selected. Prospective Trainees share their optimism on the outcome of the selection process.
Only two thousand applicants would be selected for the training and starter packs would be given to outstanding trainees.
