Over 800 people have received loans ranging from fifty to three hundred thousand Naira as the Minister for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs, Sadia Umar Farouq, visited Bayelsa to implement federal government empowerment
It is the first visit of the Minister for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs, Sadia Umar Farouq, to the government house since the recent flood disaster across Bayelsa state.

She was received by the Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpa in Government House.
The minister, condoled with the government and people of the state over the flood disaster and assured the government of more flood relief by the National Emergency Management Agency.
While welcoming the minister, the Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo expressed the unhappiness of the state over the delay in NEMA’s intervention and called for more Assistance from the agency.
The minister also arrived at the D.S.P Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, where over 800 persons became beneficiaries in the federal government schemes under the National Social Investments Programs.
The social schemes which include The Tradermoni, Marketmoni, Farmermoni, and the National Home-grown School Feeding Program are meant to alleviate millions of Nigerians out of poverty.
