The Crisis currently rocking the Peoples Democratic Party is not an insurmountable obstacle that cannot be resolved as their is always room for negotiation in Politics.
Former Deputy National Chairman of the Party, Chief Olabode George, disclosed this while speaking to TVC News at 10 on Monday night.
Chief Olabode George, said the time between the meeting of the Integrity group on Sunday and the 2023 Elections is too long to put the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party beyond redemption.
He said 24 hours is even a very long time in Politics much more the elections which are still more than 80 days away.
He said the G-5 Governors and members of the Integrity group and only interested in the enthronement of the ideals of the founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He disclosed that neither he nor Other top members of the Integrity Group and the G-5 Governors led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his colleagues from Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, Benue State, Samuel Ortom, Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu, have made a final decision on who to support especially in the 2023 Presidential Election.
He however said the group will continue to insist on equity, fairness and justice within the ranks of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The G-5 Governors of Rivers, Abia, Oyo, Benue and Enugu State had met on Sunday in Lagos with some top members of the Peoples Democratic Party including the Former Governors of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, Cross River, Donald Duke, Ondo, Olusegun Mimiko and former Ministers who have coalesced into a group now known as the Integrity Group.
The Group had emerged following the conclusion of the Presidential Primary of the Peoples Democratic Party where former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, had emerged as the winner beating Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to the Second position.
Since the conclusion of the Primary, the G-5 Governors and members of the Integrity as it is now known have been on a war path with the National Chairman of the Party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, and the Party’s Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over some sundry allegations bordering on lack of transparency in the conduct of the primary and Other issues.
