The Presidential Campaign Council for the Obi-Datti Candidature says it has mobilised the entire labour movement in the southwest region to embark on a Solidarity rally in Ibadan on Wednesday to further push for the victory the party’s Presidential Candidate.
The Chief Spokesperson for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council Yunusa Tanko who made this known while briefing newsmen in Ibadan, stated that the former Anambra State Governor and his running mate Yusuff Datti have all it takes to achieve a purposeful and participatory leadership for national rebirth.
They called on Nigerians to come all out to support the candidature of the Labour party whose seven governance priorities would for sure enthrone the rule of law and an all inclusive and effective government.
Mr Peter Obi a former governor of Anambra State under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance founded by late Biafran Leader, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, and also the Presidential running mate of the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 Election has emerged as an alternative Candidate to the the two behemoths of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.
He has galvanised support among the Youth in several parts of the country with a message which seems to resonate with the popular sentiment in the Society though many discerning observers have pointed out his penchant for twisting figures and facts to suit his narrative as a major turn off.
He left the Peoples Democratic Party earlier in the year when it became apparent that he will lose a primary for Presidential Candidate within the party.
His supporters who are expected to gather in Ibadan from across the South West are popularly referred to as Obidients and are reputed for their unpleasant and mob like attacks on any perceived slight on their favourite candidate.
