Security forces have reportedly killed a notorious bandit commander popularly known as Dogo Maikasuwa during a clearance operation in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.
Together with his foot soldiers, they reportedly ran into an ambush laid by security operatives at a forest located around the Chikun and Kajuru boundaries.
Kaduna state Commissioner for Internal security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan who confirmed the incident also revealed that other bandits escaped with gun wounds while the remains of another slain bandit was carried away by his fleeing colleagues.
Items recovered from them include one AK-47 rifle, a magazine, five rounds of ammunition, two motorcycles and one set of camouflage military uniform.
The Commissioner further explained that Dogo Maikasuwa was one of the deadliest bandit who led series of attacks and kidnappings of locals and commuters plying the Kaduna-Kachia Road.
Dogo Maikasuwa was also known for killing kidnapped victims when ransoms were delayed or considered meager, the commissioner added.
