Efforts to hear from the Army and police authorities in Zamfara proves abortive as Spokespersons of the two security agencies were not responding to phone calls put across.
Banditry has been a major problem in Zamfara for well over a decade now with the State Government, Federal Government and the Nations’ Security establishment all working hard to put an end to the menace.
The issue of Banditry was originally traced to the illegal mining activities who were taught to be behind the killings until the evolution to full time banditry and criminality.
The use of special military operations against the bandits by the government has also not succeeded in putting an end to their nefarious activities.
This massacre coming a few weeks before the Country goes to the polls to elect Leadership at both the State and Federal level will put more pressure on the State Government.
