All is now set for the Court judgement in the case of Blessing Olajide, a three hundred level undergraduate of the University of Ilorin, who was raped and murdered in her house at Tanke, Ilorin.
She was killed on the second of June, 2021.
Eight suspects including accomplices were arrested by operatives of the Department of the State Security (DSS) in connection with the crime.
They were arraigned before Justice Yusuf Ibrahim of Kwara state high Court, Ilorin on the 30th of June, 2021.
It is now almost one and a half years since the case began and all the parties are now in court to hear the final judgement.
It will be recalled that Blessing Olajide a Three Hundred Level Student of the University of Ilorin was found Dead in her house at the Tanke area of the City in the Ilorin South Local Government close to the permanent Site of the Institution in June 2021.
Her death sparked outrage and led to activists and parents protesting in the City calling for Justice for Blessing Olajide.
A few days after her death 8 Suspects and accomplices were arrested and have been on trial since then.
The Court is expected to deliver judgment in the case of the eight suspects and accomplices to finally bring closure for the family though whichever way the case swings, an appeal is highly likely.
