Energy expert and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Muhammad Kailani, has lauded President Muhamadu Buhari over his recent inauguration of the first oil drilling operation in Northern Nigeria.
He said oil production in the north would serve as a back-up to generate more revenue for Nigeria as it witnesses a huge budget deficit.
According to him the discovery of oil in the north will greatly improve the Nigerian Economy.
He appealed to President Muhamadu Buhari to ensure that exploration of oil in Bauchi and Gombe state kicks off before the end of his administration in 2023.
He also called on the federal government to dredge the Niger River and Baro Port to boost economic activities on the water ways and the smooth operations of the inland water transport sector.
