A 75-year-old kidnap victim has been rescued by the Police in Zamfara forest after two months in bandits den.
The victim, Mohammadu Sheshi, is a native of Enagi in Edati Local Government area of Niger State
He was abducted alongside other travellers by a large number of armed bandits who blocked Birnin Gwari – Kaduna road sometimes in early October and took them to their hideouts around Dansadau axis in Zamfara state.
A press statement issued by the police in Zamfara says the rescue followed an operation conducted based on intelligence report on the incident
The statement added that the victim was medically checked at a Police health facility and has been reunited with his family.
