Supply Chain Management issues need to be addressed for the Global Economy to actually move forward and exit the current challenges facing it.
Dr Olusola Kolawole an Expert in supply chain management made this disclosure while speaking on the impact of Supply Chain Management bottlenecks on the global Economy.
He added that the lingering issues signposted originally by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine War and Others have made scarcity of food and Other critical equipment and Labour across the world.
He said the issues have made it difficult as it affects both the import and export of both Finished and Raw Materials across the countries of the World.
He added that the issues have also made the shortage of fuel a major issue that most countries of the world are now dealing with.
On the continued adherence of the Chinese government to the Zero Covid Policy of the Xi Jinping leadership, he said the disruptions that come with the policy will make it difficult to move goods and raw materials across China for subsequent movement across the World.
Dr Olawale who was speaking from the United Kingdom said the impact of this is that a lot of products produced primarily in China will not be available during the current Festive Season.
He however said a lot needs to be done to ensure that the impact of the disruptions of the Supply Chain across the World is minimised to the barest minimum especially in Inflation of prices of Food, Goods and Equipment.
He disclosed that the main step being taken from the Government of the Unite Kingdom and expected from Other Countries of the World is the building up of domestic capacity to substitute for the absent product, Goods and services from China and Other parts of the World.
He also urged the Federal Government to communicate more with the people to ensure people are aware of what is currently going on around the world so that Nigerians are able to follow the Government’s lead.
He called for the institution of Social Safety Net for Nigerians to ensure that they are able to make ends meet and continue to live without too much disruptions.
