The Chatham House appearance of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was not a debate neither was it something designed to test his oratorial powers but to gauge how he will act as President concerning issues and challenges of Governance.
The Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Festus Keyamio, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria disclosed this while speaking on the TVC News Political Programme, Politics Tonight with Olajumoke Olatunji.
Mr Keyamo while reacting to insinuations on the appearance of the Presidential candidate of the party said most of the People who were making comments were not conversant enough with Corporate Governance or how government works.
He said the appearance of Asiwaju Tinubu at Chatham House was to see how he as President will handle the Challenges of Governance which does not start and end with him.
He described the process through which a President typically takes decisions to start from a situation being brought to council and the President through the Chief of Staff will minute on it to the Head of the Concerned Ministry or agency who will then make his or her opinions on the issue known.
He disclosed that the President will get a position paper through the Office of the Chief of Staff after which the President will make his input and make a final decision.
Going further, he said the process is important because the President is not expected to be the know it all and an expert in everything.
According to him Leadership especially in a Presidential system is all about the team and not just a know it all President.
He disclosed that the appearance of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Chatham House demonstrated all that is good in Leadership and one that should be commended.
He added that any President is not expected to be a professional in everything but to listen to professionals in every field before making a final informed and good decision for the benefit of his people.
