Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to disclose the names of Governors who are allegedly stealing Local Government Funds.
Governors made this call while speaking at the commissioning of a network of Roads at the Mgbuosimini Community in the State.
The Governor who welcomed Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to the State for the Commissioning of the Project said it will do all Nigerians a world of Good if Mr President who described a s a great Leader will list the culprits.
He said for his part and that of the G-5 Governors in the Integrity Group they will not touch Local Government Funds and have no reasons to do so.
He added that the projects commissioning spree and flag off will continue vowing to continue to work until his last day in office.
While noting that he as a person and those within the G-5 Group are not tired he urged President Muhammadu Buhari to list the names of the Governors who have been stealing or tampering with Local Government Funds Irrespective of party affiliations.

Governors made this call while speaking at the commissioning of a network of Roads at the Mgbuosimini Community in the State.
The Governor who welcomed Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to the State for the Commissioning of the Project said it will do all Nigerians a world of Good if Mr President who described a s a great Leader will list the culprits.
He said for his part and that of the G-5 Governors in the Integrity Group they will not touch Local Government Funds and have no reasons to do so.
He added that the projects commissioning spree and flag off will continue vowing to continue to work until his last day in office.
While noting that he as a person and those within the G-5 Group are not tired he urged President Muhammadu Buhari to list the names of the Governors who have been stealing or tampering with Local Government Funds Irrespective of party affiliations.

“As i am talking to you, their is no month we don’t pay N2.6 Billion to pensioners and gratuities, i challenge the pensioners to come out to say they have not been receiving their pensions and gratuities every month, let them challenge us, its on record, and i want to say this to Mr President, me i am even saying 2.6 but its 3 point something, i want to say this to Mr President, you are a leader, we believe as a leader you should come out and tell Nigerians who is committing this offence, you said the governors are taking Local Government funds but i want to say in the name of almighty God that i have never for one day touched Local Government Funds, i have no reasons to do that, so Mr President tell us, you know them, please tell us, this just class defamation, because when you say Governors, please i am not one of those governors”
“Please Mr President spare me, the Integrity Governors are not part of them, we have Integrity, we are not part of them, do us a favour to announce all those States who are taking Local Government Funds, i have never since 2015 till now and i have no reason and i will never have any reason to do it because when i was Chairman of Local Government under Dr Peter Odili, he never touched Local Government Money, i see no reason why i will touch peoples funds now when nobody touched my own when i was chairman of a Local Government”
” So Mr President please announce to the world and Nigerians who has been stealing Local Government funds in Nigeria, please remove the Integrity governors from those touching Local Government funds, we are not part of them but announce those who have been touching because you have the records, let us not be generalising things its not good for this country and that is why Nigeria is not growing”
“If somebody has done bad say somebody has done bad not that people are doing bad, who are those who are doing that bad, mention their names, mention, so i stand here, Channels is here, AIT is here, TVC is here and NTA is here, i don’t know which of the Stations the President is watching you maybe watching AIT, Channels, TVC or NTA, I Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Commander of the Order of the Niger, General Service Star of Rivers State, Life Bencher, i have never and will never touch any Local Government money, i have never called any Local government to partner with state, ordinarily the projects we have been doing ought to be Local Government projects, i have not, let one Local Council Chairman raise his hands and say you have touched our funds”
” I have never, so thank you Mr President, it doesn’t matter which party they belonged to, there are those who believe they are in power and can do anything they like, maybe hmmm, maybe, that is why i don’t like it when Local Government Chairmen come to praise me, we are not in power so we are being very very careful”
