The Deputy Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Adam Oshiomhole, has described the APC Presidential rally in Edo as a great outing that featured individuals that matters in the polity.
He however said the party is more concerned about the quality of those who came out and not necessarily the number.
The former APC national chairman disclosed this in an interview with TVC News on Thursday.
Mr Oshiomhole said the rally is remarkable because the party’s flagbearer made the longest speech in the history of party’s 2023 presidential rally. He added that Senator Tinubu touched on all the issues that concern the people.
Speaking on why Tinubu stands tall among his contenders, the former Edo state governor said the APC flagbearer has governed Nigeria’s most populous state which accounts for about 45% of Nigeria GDP successfully.
His words: “I believe it was a great outing. Not only that we have a very huge turnout, but we are looking at the quality of those who came out. There were people who were there to see the presidential candidate and to hear him out. And for those who have been following the campaigns, you will agree that arguably as well, Tinubu made the longest speech today. And he spoke on all the issues that are concerned the people of state.
“Tinubu has been in politics, he has governed Nigeria’s most populous state that account for about 45% of Nigeria GDP. He reminded young people that there are no miracles to job creation. He will deal with the manufacturing sector and create jobs. He said Edo will become power hub because we have for example, Azura power plant, but we have no power in the street. And he wondered how for example, governors are celebrating street light, which is taken for granted in many local government areas. And I think he spoke on all the issues,” Oshiomhole reechoed.
