President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dauda Ali Biu as the Acting Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
This was disclosed at a press conference by the secretary to the government of the Federation Boss Mustafa in Abuja.
Until his appointment, Dauda Ali Biu was the acting Corp Marshal for six months, a position he held since July 2022.
Mr Ali’s appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari makes him the second career staff to be appointed head of ISO certified organisation in the capacity of Corp Marshal.
The federal government has supported the agency by asserting to the six United Nations conventions on road traffic and the building of world-class Auditorium.
The the workforce was also increased through Recruitment and training of over 8 000 personnel.
On the operational front, 958 Vehicles were injected into the organisation with a setting up of 16 new sector command to boost staff welfare.
Dauda Ali Biu was born in Zaria but hails from Howell local government of Born states. He joined the service of FRSC in 1998 and rose through the ranks.
At a conference, the secretary to the government of the Federation Boss Mustafa expressed the administration’s believe that the Corp marshal has the capacity to build up his offices and take them to a new level.
The SGF said ” I believe that under your leadership, you will promote capacity building for your men and offices, you would emphasise the issue of their welfare and also take the call to a new level”.
The Corp marshal on his part thanked the president for his appointment pledging to make the agency excel in its core duties.
The Corp Marshal is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in lifting the standard of the Corp under his command.
