The HEKAN President task leader’s of the newly created District Church Council (DCC’s) to take ownership for the Success and growth of the church
“As you may be aware, we have created additional District Church Councils (DCCs) to support the ease of administration and growth of the Church. May I at this juncture call on the newly created DCC leaders and members to take ownership in collaboration for the success and growth of their Church councils, the older and more experienced DCCs shall serve as reference support to the new DCCs”
On the newly approved HEKAN Membership card which is one of the brain work of the church leadership, the president says only those who acquired the card are qualified members of the church
” A new HEKAN membership card is in circulation, every baptized member of HEKAN must have a membership card; the card number is unique to each member. The new card has been released for use effective 1st January, 2023. The only first thing that qualifies you as a HEKAN member is the ownership of our membership card. Old ones will be retrieved, and new ones issued in 2023 only. It is important to state that it is mandatory for every member to carry HGMO membership card in line with the biblical injunction for all believers to go into the world and make disciples of all nations. Our annual dues will go a long way in supporting and proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ” Kiri Insist.
In another development, the HEKAN President Reverend Amos Kiri was awarded with an award of excellence in recognition of his selfless Service to Humanity
The Honour was done by Kiri District Development Association in Adamawa state
The HEKAN President was among five awardees from different fields which includes Academia, Religious and other fields
The award ceremony was the second of its kind in recent times
The Award of excellence to Dr. Kiri was on the heels of his contribution and dedication to the development of his Community and the association among other things
Kiri was elated by the recognition and honour done on him
He thanked his People for finding him worthy and assures to continue to give his best at all times
Reverend Amos Kiri also commend the organisers for a job weldone, noting that the award was not for him alone but for his family and the entire HEKAN Church where he is currently serving as the president
Dr. Kiri appeal to all to see each other as brothers and also embrace peace at all times
President of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria known as HEKAN Reverend Dr. Amos Kiri has appealed to Nigerian youths to shun any attempt by selfish Politicians use them and cause harm to Political opponents before, during and after the 2023 General election and also sell their vote.
The HEKAN President also enjoin eligible voters to use their permanent Voters Card (PVC) which he described as their legal document to vote Candidates of their choice
He also warn the Christian community and all Nigerians against any attempt to sell their vote which is their right
Dr. Kiri stated this in his New message read across all HEKAN Churches nationwide
” I want to also use this medium to call on our youths not to allow themselves to be used by politicians for selfish gains. Any politician that will induce you to cause harm to his opponent should be resisted. Don’t allow yourselves to be used and dumped like an orange that has been soaked and thrown away. Let us all continue to pray for free and fair elections come 2023. Dr. Kiri prayed.
” As u are all aware, Political campaigns have started in earnest, Politicians have started visiting worship places to solicit for your vote, They will come with sweet tongues and endless promises as usual,There is nothing wrong with any candidate campaigning and lobbying to get voted into power but you as the electorate too must know the power you hold” Kiri said
“Your one vote can be the determining factor in 2023, therefore it is expected you use your vote wisely when the time comes. This is the only legal document that gives you the power to vote credible and focus leaders” he added.
“We will not relent in voter education of our members so that we will not fall victim to electing the wrong people or wasting our votes. The slogan is to vote to protect your interest and the interest of your children born and unborn”.
On the Insecurity bedevilling the country, Rev. Kiri said the year 2022 was challenging but God in his mercy has preserved his children
He urged those in authorities to rise to their responsibility and address the challenges which is affecting all aspects of life
” The year 2022 in retrospect, has been an eventful year for the Church but God is in infinite mercy and is forever faithful that is why he has kept us in despite the insecurity challenges characterized by a threat to lives and properties, loss of lives from incessant killings, economic hardship, and general uncertainties in the Country among many vulnerabilities faced by the small and mighty. 2023 by the special grace of God will be different and we shall not see the Egyptians again in Jesus’ name”
