The third edition of Ketewa, a cultural festival in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria, has been held in the hilly town of Idanre, amid pomp and ceremony.
The former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in the state, Yemi Olowolabi, who is the organiser of the event, said government alone cannot fund cultural festivals, hence the need for corporate organisations to intervene.
It is the climax of the 3-day cultural festival, known as Ketewa in the hilly town of Idanre, Ondo State.
It was an excitement-packed cultural event, laced with good music for the old and the younger generations.
About twenty cultural troupes and musical bands entertained the audience, which comprised traditional rulers, high chiefs, clubs and associations.
It was indeed a night to showcase the rich cultural heritage of people of idanre.
The former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in the state, Yemi Olowolabi who is a son of the soil, put the event together for people of Idanre.
The media guru is delighted with the outcome and wants corporate organisations and well-meaning Nigerians to support Ketewa festival.
Some indigenes of the town also speak on the importance of the festival, which they say has come to stay.
The event also witnessed the celebration of two High Chiefs

The people of Akegbe community in Nkanu West local government area of Enugu State have presented a traditional staff known as Offor to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party. Peter Mbah in the state Governorship election.
The event was witnessed by the Governor of Enugu State Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi former President of the Senate, Senator Ken Nnamani at the 2023 Akegbe Ugwu Cultural Festival.
The people Annual festival, which holds in January, attracts Indigenes of the community home and abroad, who traveled home to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of their community.
To many, the presentation of the Offor by their traditional ruler and council of chiefs from the community , symbolises an endorsement of the PDP candidate for the February Governorship election .
