Electric distribution companies have been urged to comply with the regulations and enforcement directives of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency, NEMSA.
Managing Director Chief Executive Officer of NEMSA and the chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation, Mr Aliu Tahir made this call during a visit to Ikeja electric on the National Monitoring and Technical evaluation of 33 KV primary feeders and Associated injection substations supplied from the transmission substations.
During the inspection with an NEMSA tax Force Team, Mr Tahir identified some of the challenges at the interface points between transmission and electricity distribution networks hindering smoke power supply delivery in the country.
Meanwhile the managing director of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company Folake Soetan assures that the company will ensure zero tolerance for facilities and accidents safe connectivity with customers as well as
ensure all equipment meet with NEMSA and Son standards.
Established by the NEMSA Act, 2015, the agency is charged with the responsibility to carry out the functions of enforcement of technical standards and regulations, technical inspection, testing and certification of all categories of electrical installations, electricity meters and instruments to ensure an efficient production and delivery of safe, reliable and sustainable electivity power supply and guarantee safety of lives and property in the Nigerian electricity supply industry ( NESI) and other allied industries/workplaces and premises
