Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged young Nigerian to wake up and take charge of their future as they have the strength, intellectual capacity and other attributes that can take the country out of the woods.
He made this know through his new year message which he sent to Nigerians through a letter titled MY APPEAL TO ALL NIGERIANS, PARTICULARLY YOUNG NIGERIANS, issued today 1st October, 2023.
The former President who noted that the problem of Nigeria presently is beyond what he faced when he came on board in 1999 said the problems of insecurity, unemployment and other issues affecting the growth of the country require fresh ideas and skills.
He appealed to the youth to see this period as their opportunity to retool the country by considering it as their turn.
He also commended politicians for playing by the rules and for being civil in their campaigns, noting that if citizens get it right this time around, Nigeria has no business with poverty, hunger, unemployment, insecurity, banditry, insurgency debt among other challenges.
