The Nigerian police in Nasarawa state has arrested three vigilante officers who are members of a six-man kidnapping syndicate terrorising the Asakio Sabongida road in Nasarawa state.
The command also arrested a group of cattle rustlers who have been terrorising herdsmen settled in a Akwanga local government of the states.
They have also been kidnapping unsuspecting members of the public for ransom.
The suspects ran out of luck when operatives of the Nigerian police raided their hideout and recovered one locally fabricated AK-47 rifle and other ammunitions.
The Police also arrested a group of cattle rustlers who are residents of Sangha local government of Kaduna State, a border community with Nasarawa state.
The suspects also caught of herders from their settlement in Adara Village of Akwanga local government of Nasarawa State.
They were arrested by the police when they relocated the cattle to Lafia in order to sell them.
Speaking to newsmen, the Commissioner of Police said the Nasarawa state command under his leadership will not relent but up its antics to audaciously clamp down on the criminals until they are subjugated.
He appealed to all the good people of the state to come to all the police and avail them with very credible information that will help to reduce crime to its barest minimum level.
The suspects confessed to the crime.
Other suspects were also paraded for various crimes ranging from armed robbery,
motorcycle thefts and other related offences.
