The People’s Democratic Party Governorship Campaign train led by its Candidate Dauda Lawal Dare visited Maradun Local Government area to canvass for votes ahead of the forthcoming elections
Addressing the crowd of party faithful and supporters, Dr. Dauda Lawal says he is impressed with the turnout and urge the people to vote massively for the PDP at all levels
Dr. Dauda said if Elected Governor, he will provide adequate security to all Communities and highways in the state
He also promise to settle the Internally Displaced Persons roving the street as a result of Banditry and Kidnapping in their villages.
The Zamfara Governorship Hopeful adds that his administration if emerged will also prioritized agriculture, revitalize irrigation and aquaculture which will in turn significantly improve the standard of living of the people
“I informed the people of some of my plans, which are to provide security for that area and our entire State, resettle the internally displaced persons (IDPs) back to their homes and farms, revitalize irrigation and aquaculture, which will significantly improve their standard of living” Dr. Dauda said.

This is coming a week after some members of the APC dump the party and join the PDP to support the ambition of Dr. Dauda Lawal as Governor and other Candidates vying for different Political positions

The PDP Governorship Campaign is expected to round up it’s Campaign this Thursday in Gusau, the capital city of Zamfara State after visiting thirteen out of the fourteen Local Government areas of the state.
GOV. MATAWALLE ORDERS ARREST OF THOSE REJECTING OLD NAIRA NOTES IN ZAMFARA
Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara has directed the arrest of anyone who refuses to accept the old currency notes of two hundred, five and One Thousand naira in the state
He says the old currency notes remain legal tender until the final verdict of the case instituted against the Central Bank of Nigeria by three northern Governors of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara States at the supreme court
Governor Matawalle explained and his counterparts of Kogi and Kaduna states are seeking the supreme court to order the extension and validity of the old 200, 500 and 1000 naira notes from the initial dateline of February 10th
The redesign Naira Notes policy according to Gov. Matawalle is a good idea but came at a wrong time especially as the country will go into general election in a few weeks to come
He adds that the policy has also plunged the nations economy into a serious crisis and worsens security challenges
The Directives by Governor Bello Matawalle is coming hours after the Council of states met with president Buhari and supported the redesigned Naira notes policy
Kano, Ondo and Niger states also sue the federal government over same issue.
General Elections : FG orders Closure of All Polytechnics.
The Federal government has again ordered the closure of all polytechnics in the country until after the general elections.
The directive is coming a few days after the federal government issue a similar directive for the closure of all universities in the county.
There are concerns about Students and staff security during the presidential and National Assembly elections and the gubernatorial and state assemblies
It has prompted the federal government to order the closure of all universities, inter-Universities and inter-university centers across the nation from February 22nd to March 2023.
Acting on a directive of the minister of education, the national universities commission in a circular conveyed to all the vice-chancellors of all universities and directors and chief executives of inter University centres, urged all the universities to vacate during the election period.
Less than a week later, it has now also directed all polytechnics in the country to shut down until after the forthcoming general elections.
In line with the directive, all academic activities in the schools will be suspended between Wednesday, the 22nd of February to March 14th, 2023.
The house of representatives had called on the ministry of education and its regulatory agencies to order all tertiary institutions to suspend academic activities till after the general elections to ensure no student is disenfranchised.
The 2023 general elections is scheduled to hold on Saturday 25th February 2023 for the Presidential and National Assembly, and on Saturday 11th March, 2023 for Gubernatorial and State house of Assembly respectively.
