The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced Alex Otti of the Labour Party as the winner of the Abia State Governorship Election held on Saturday in the State and Other part of the Country.
Mr Otti defeated his closest rival Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party with a wide margin of votes.
This is his third time of contesting for the Abia State Governorship and could be described as third time lucky.

We will be Victorious – Alex Otti
The candidate of the Labour Party for the Abia State gubernatorial election, Alex Otti, insists that the victory of the party in the state cannot be overturned no matter the alleged manipulation of the yet-to-be-announced result.
He said this at a press conference in Abuja where he pointed out that the Bimodal Voter Authentication System (BVAS) has exposed the true voting strength of the Obingwa axis as lower than 30,000 voters.
He believes that the comfortable lead of the Labour Party in the Governorship race, and the reality of less than thirty thousand registered voters in Obingwa, cannot change the victory of the party.
He called on the people of Abia State to remain calm and assured them that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was reviewing the result from the Obingwa axis where they manufactured figures of more than 80,000 while the total votes for the two lawmakers into the Abia state Assembly from the area are under 30,000.
