The Peoples Democratic Party in Taraba State has called on the governorship candidate of NNPP in the just concluded polls to concede defeat rather than heat the polity with sponsored protests.
PDP condemned in strong term a protest purportedly staged by NNPP members on Monday at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja.
The protesters demanded among others review and outright cancellation of Taraba polls.
Addressing the media in Jalingo, the party PRO in the state described the action as uncalled for and provocative since there is constitutional process through which they could address their grievances.
He further described the protest as a brazen affront on democracy, adding that Taraba electorates are prepared to defend their votes.
Addressing journalists at a meeting, Andetarang Iramae- PDP, PRO, Taraba state said elections in the state was quite peaceful and like other elections, a candidate was declared.
According to him “We noticed the people of Taraba have spoken loud and clear again”.
He noted that if anyone is aggrieved, they have a right to go to the tribunal to address the issues.
Taraba he noted is a peaceful state and if the NNPP guber candidate wants to instigate a section of the state against constituted authority, he will be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order in the state.
