The National Group of Traditionalists in Ekiti State is asking Government at all levels to consider Traditionalists in the Scheme of Governance.
Dauda Lawal Awise, Spokesperson of the Group laments that during the Campaign, Politicians woo all categories of Religion but when elected they are not carried along, either in a consultative capacity or appointments which are shared among the other two religion, which is Christianity and Muslims.
He Speaks further on the Public Holiday allotted to Christians and Muslims which does not include Traditionalists. They are asking that every 20th of August be considered as Public Holiday for Traditional Worshippers.
He says 20th of August is significant for Traditionalists because it signifies a day of Prayer and Sacrifice.
The Leader of the Group Says they are important in enhancing Peace in the land and forestalling calamities and evil on citizens as they do pray.
