The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC Abdurasheed Bawa said a partnership between the EFCC and the Nigeria media will strengthen the fight against corruption and produce result that will reverse the negative impact it’s has on the nation’s economy.
Mr. Bawa stated this at a workshop on Financial Crimes Reporting organised for journalists in Sokoto State where he was represented by the Zonal Commandant’s of EFCC in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi Zamfara, Assistant Commandant of EFCC Aliyu Yunusa
He said if media practitioners intensify efforts on budget tracking to ensure transparency and accountability in both formal and informal sector of the economy Nigeria will be better for it.
He said the workshop is one of the modest efforts of the commission to build synergy, understanding and more cordial relationships with the media.
