The Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima has encouraged officers and men of the command to work towards ensuring the security of national asset as well as safety along the water ways.
He made the call while on inspection duty at the Nigeria Navy Ship Delta based in Warri.
The new Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima is embarking on a familiarisation tour of some units under his leadership.
At the command’s Jetty, The New FOC was welcomed by some senior officers at the base, before inspecting some facilities.
The commitment of the Command to deal with all forms of criminality in their operational areas was highlighted.
He said the CNS has reiterated the fact that the Navy must as part of their requirement fight oil theft and other maritime crime.
He added that the goal must be achieved and in doing that a tour of the facility was necessary and so far is satisfied with what is on ground.
The FOC also addressed some officers and men at the base as he charges them to keep up with their laudable endeavors.
The Flag officer commanding, the central naval command is in charge of naval operations in Delta, Edo, Kogi, Anambra, and Bayelsa states.
