Governor of Enugu state Peter Mbah has inaugurated the state’s Joint Accounts Allocation Committee (JAAC), with the charge that local government funds must be used to lift the people out of poverty.
Inaugurating the 16-man Committee at the Government House, Enugu, Governor Mbah described the local government as the closest tier of government to the people.
Mbah charged members of the committee to ensure that incomes of LGAs are boasted through the State Joint Local Government Account.
Responding, Chairman of the Committee, Anthony Udeh thanked the Governor for finding members worthy to serve on the Committee, pledged their readiness to discharge the functions in tandem with the vision and principles of transparency and accountability espoused by the administration.
