The Kwara State Government has once again expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for its contribution to the country’s fight against insecurity, insurgency, and other concerns in the country.
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq presented the award while receiving Major General Valentine Okoro, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Ibadan, Oyo State, in his office.
Governor AbdulRazaq who was represented by his Deputy, Mr. Kayode Alabi, acknowledged the sacrifices and dedication to service by the officers of the Nigerian Army and indeed all other security forces in the country.
He observed that the consequences of insecurity include economic stagnation, fear, destitution, and loss of life, among other negative consequences.
The governor stated that the government of Kwara State is ready to work with security services to rid the state and the country of threats to peace and national security.
Earlier, Major General Valentine Okoro, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Ibadan, revealed that he was in the state on a familiarization assignment with 22 Armored Brigade, Sobi, as one of the formations and units under his command.
He praised the strong working relationship between the Government of Kwara State and the Nigerian Army, saying that such collaboration would result in more desirable outcomes for the people.
He noted that the Nigerian Army is ready to drive security and combat all types of insecurity plaguing the country.
