In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the University of Ibadan has decorated the Lagos state Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat as the University’s ambassador based on his brilliance and exemplary character.
University of Ibadan is the oldest degree-awarding institution in Nigeria founded in 1948.
As the university turns 75 years this year, there is every reason to roll out the drums and celebrate the excellence that the university symbolizes.
The visit also witnessed an induction of the Lagos Deputy Governor as “UI at 75” ambassador, a position specifically offered to the best among the University’s alumni.
No doubt alumni are great role models for current students and are often well placed to offer practical support to students as they start their careers.
The Deputy Governor said creating an enabling environment for students is the priority of all.
Mr Obafemi Hamzat graduated from the University of Ibadan with a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1986 and a master’s in Agricultural Engineering in 1988. In 1992, he had his PhD in System Process Engineering at Cranefield University, England.
