Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago has disclosed that the State Government has paid 6 Billion Naira as counterpart fund to various Development Partners to aid rapid growth and development in the State.
The governor disclosed this when he received a technical and supervision team of the 10th FGN/IFAD Value Chain Development Programme on a courtesy call.
Governor Bago said the state is ready to create an enabling environment for its development partners which is it has paid over 6 billion naira in counterpart funding
This is to ensure the people get the benefits of the various developmental programmes operating in the state.
While speaking to team from the Federal Government/ IFAD Joint implementation Supervision Mission of the Value Chain Development Programme the governor assured that the state will pay its counterpart fund to the organisation and called for partnership to improve shea nut production in the state.
The team lead Samuel Eremie says the Programme is expected to end by December 2024 and thus far the performance by Niger state has been impressive.
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a financial institution and a specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries.
This partnership expected to bring help to rural communities in the state.
