The federal Government has been urged to continue support Polytechnic education through proper allocation of funds for the development of more qualified middle level skill manpower and technological innovations.
The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle made this appeal during the inauguration of the Poly TV of Mass Communication Department, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State.
It was a thing of joy for the people and residents of Ogun West as they witness the test run and unveiling of the Poly TV of the Mass Communication Department, federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State
The Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle joined the Rector of the institution Mukail Akinde to lead other eminent personalities in the land to the occasion.
While speaking about the contributions of the Polytechnic to the development of skilled manpower and development of machines in the country, the Paramount ruler wants the federal Government to allocate more resources to the institution.
Aside from funding, the Rector of the Polytechnic who also celebrated his one year in office, identified irregular power supply as a major challenge affecting the progress of some of the technological innovations put together in the institution.
He also commended the support of stakeholders in the actualization of the project.
The TV station which is the first of it’s kind in Ogun West is expected to serve as training ground for students studying mass communication in the institution and provide platform of information dissemination, education and entertainment for the people of the area.
