The Nigerian Labour Congress in Zamfara says over sixty thousand workers are to benefit from the state government Palliative aimed at minimizing the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy.
The Labour union says four thousand bags of assorted grains has been allocated to civil servants in the state.
NLC Chairman in Zamfara, Sani Haliru disclosed this during the flag off of the distribution of the food items held at the premises of Radio Nigeria, Pride FM in Gusau.
Sani Haliru says the Donation of grains by the State Government is part of the federal government palliatives sent to the state for distribution.
He appeal to the state government to do it’s bid by donating it’s share of Palliative to workers in the state as that of the federal government alone Cannot reach out to all workers in the state.
” We are still expecting palliatives from the state government, that of the federal government will not be enough for us to share to all workers” Zamfara NLC Boss Said.
” I also appeal to our members to accept the little the union received at the moment, as not all of the workers will be given due to the quantity of what the Labour union received” Sani Haliru.
Mr. Haliru who spoke on behalf of the NLC and TUC noted that workers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Local government, Primary School Teachers and health workers are among the beneficiaries of the palliatives.
The four thousand bags of grains received by the Zamfara NLC Consist of 2000 bags of Rice and 2000 bags of Maize.
