An Igbo social cultural group, Nkata Ndi Inyom Igbo is advocating for team spirit to address the rising challenges of conflict and insecurity in the region.
Founder of the Group and former Minister of women affairs, Josephine Anenih raised the concern at the third Igbo Women group Conference in Enugu.
Women’s participation in post-conflict nation-building is key to achieving an equitable, peaceful and more prosperous society.
At this third Annual Igbo women conference, Inyom Anineh expressed concern about rising insecurity in the South East and other regions of the country.
She charged leaders in authorities to fully utilise the innate deposits in women, harness their potentials to contribute positively to the growth of their communities and the society at large.
Keynote Speaker at the conference underscores the role of women in leadership positions, which she described as highly essential to nation building.
Governor of Enugu State Peter Mbah lauded the initiative, calls on women to ensure peace, stability, accountability and development in the society.
The Two day event that was attended by notable Igbo Women in Academia, Politics, Commerce, with Diaspora participation, is expected to come up with resolutions that would proffer solution to the social, economic and security challenges in the country.
