Chiefs and elders of Kalabari land have called for continued cooperation and unity amongst the people to move the kingdom forward.
This was the message at the inauguration of the burial committee for the late Amayanabo of Kalabari, King Professor Theophilus Princewill, who died after about 18 years on the throne.
The ancient Kalabari Kingdom is moving towards another landmark in their history.

The traditional leadership of the kingdom gathers to inaugurate
committees to give a befitting funeral to the monarch and renowned
academic who died at the age of 90.
The throne seats inside the King Amachree Memorial Hall facing backwards, an indication that it is vacant.
Marking the end of an era and the journey to the start of another comes with hope for growth in the peace and prosperity of Kalabari Kingdom.
18 sub committees comprising representatives of the 33 communities in Kalabari kingdom were inaugurated to work out program for funeral next month.
