Traders at the Mile 12 Market in Ikosi Isheri local council area have protested to the Lagos state house of assembly in Alausa Ikeja.
The traders who were led by the Iya’loja said the market management protest was against the backdrop of some elements who have been extorting money from the traders and generally disrupting the peace of the market, according to them they are not against government’s intention of renovating the market as insinuated in some quarters.
They pointed out that the government had only granted them 5 years lease of their current location of the market in 1999 and have not bothered them till date , adding that they are not oppose to development of the market by government.
The protesting traders were received by the Chairman house Committee on information, strategy and security who promised that the lawmakers will address the situation and make appropriate recommendation.
