The modern traditional medicine practitioners of Nigeria has appealled to President Bola Tinubu to urgently accent to the traditional, complementary and alternative medicine bill which was approved by the federal executive council in 2020.
In a statement signed by its national president, Ibrahim Nakowa, he admits that the bill seeks to encourage the practice of alternative medicine in Nigeria.
In the same breath, the practitioners are also warning the public against patronizing unregistered or fake herbal doctors across the country and the entire African region.
They believe consuming herbs from unregistered practitioners could be dangerous to the health of citizens, especially at a time when kidney failures and liver damages are on the rise.
President of the body, Mr. Nakowa says that all herbal doctors need to be verified before purchases are made from them as herbs can become dangerous for human consumption without proper preparation or storage.
